Inventory

How to inventory a PC without installing additional software on a PC?

It is necessary to quickly make an inventory at the enterprise. I imagine it like this. We start searching for devices on one PC from the admin account, it takes data over the network, then we go through the cabinets with our legs and by the ip of the device we already find a match in a pre-prepared file.

We need a meager set of information: system unit configuration (for example, Pentium 5400 / 4Gb / 240SSD),
a list of software (for example, Windows 10, MS Office 2019, Kaspersky 11, Photoshop etc.) / device name (printer, phone)

we enter this information into the plate with your hands: ID, full name of the employee who operates the equipment,
office or place,

Well, unload it with a plate. Somewhere for a long time I came across such software. You give him admin rights, it passed through the IP range, collected information.

The main thing is that it should be without the client part. Or the client part was without installation. Is there such a thing?

I suspect that the network is on Windows.
In general, most of the information on installed software and hardware can be found in the Windows registry. You can work with the registry remotely with domain admin rights.
You can also get a lot of information on WMI using wmic in cmd or powershell.
I know about "10Strike: Inventory" from inventory software that uses this kind of information collection.
At one time I used this software - it's not expensive, updates are free (when I used this software), support is adequate.

DameWare NT Utilities EMNIP was capable of this. In essence, you need to add a check for the presence of registry entries that are specific to the deployed software, and use them to track whether the software is there or not. In any case, for such an inventory, the PC must be turned on and accessible over the network, and for a normal inventory, you still have to teleport through the cabinets and climb under the tables, especially if the PC has some kind of inventory number drawn with a marker on the case.
