How to install Windows XP from a flash drive?
I have a PC from old iron, I want to play old games on us under Windows XP.
Core 2 Quad, 4Gb, GTX 240.
No CD-ROM, you need to install from a flash drive. If you burn via Ultra ISO - an error during installation "inf file txtsetup.sif is corrupted or state 18 is missing".
I found this instruction comp-profi.com/view_post.php?id=242, downloaded the version of WinSetupFromUSB, which is mentioned in the article, but: in the main window of the program, my flash drive (SanDisk 32Gb) is seen, but Bootice sees only HDD, flash drives not on the list. In a newer version of the program, the flash drive is seen, but there is no Perform Format option.
Please tell me how to still install Windows XP from a USB flash drive (I'm making a USB flash drive on a computer with Windows 10).

Use rufus: https://rufus.akeo.ie/ - it normally makes any bootable flash drives.
if you have an android phone, then you can put the drivedroid program on it, upload the iso image of the Windows installer to the micro-sd and install it from there. much more convenient than reformatting a flash drive.
My answer will be a little more "wide-ranging". There is such a recovery tool in the form of LiveDVD or LiveUSB - called MultiBoot .
In addition to the actual tools for settings and repairs, it also has clean distributions of Windows 8.1, 7 and XP on board. Moreover, XP - even in two versions: one installation option does not work - we use another. In the simple version, you need an 8 GB flash drive, in the full version - 16 GB.
To solve your problem (and thousands of others) - that's it, I recommend it.
