How to install TTF font in Adobe CC 2018?

There is a *.ttf font file installed in the system. Word, notepad, other applications see. Adobe Illustrator CC 2018 - no. Illustrator, Creative Cloud rebooted.
PS There is no font on Typekit!

Try using a font manager like FontExpert.
I have it installed and I can connect any font on the fly and it will install correctly (as opposed to simply copying it to the Fonts folder). Never had such problems.
