I asked myself about upgrading the RAM on my Macbook Pro 15" Late 2011 (4Gb
)
Apple says it is desirable to stick with the same volume, believe it or not

I have been working according to the 2gb + 8gb scheme for more than a year - everything is fine, as it should be.
Although 16gb is better.
