How to install linux from a flash drive?

Haven't tried anything yet. The disk was made with the help of universal usb installer, and UltraISO, and UNetBootin ... Secure Boot disabled ... Nothing helps. Just after selecting any item in the menu (OS menu in the BIOS, such as download live cd, install, etc.) - a black screen and nothing more. Absolutely nothing helps. :(
PS I mainly tried to install linux mint and ubuntu downloaded from off sites. Both with the same result.
