How to install Google Analytics for a site with subdomains?

Please tell me how to solve the problem. There is a site with 33 subdomains (branches in Russia). Installed Google Analytics. Statistics on subdomains is collected as statistics on segments, but at the same time, for some reason, you can only watch 4 segments. This is terribly inconvenient, I want 33 subdomains at once and also a general visit. How to solve this problem?

There are 2 options:
1. Set up proper cross-domain tracking in Google Analytics
2. Switch from Google Analytics to Universal Analytics, where there is no such problem for subdomains
