How to install firmware updates?

Installed intel-microcode.
Selected the necessary updates through

# iucode_tool -S -l /lib/firmware/intel-ucode/*
iucode_tool: system has processor(s) with signature 0x000206c2
...
selected microcodes:
  090/001: sig 0x000206c1, pf_mask 0x03, 2009-12-22, rev 0x0006, size 6144
  091/001: sig 0x000206c2, pf_mask 0x03, 2018-05-08, rev 0x001f, size 11264

Added to the bucket config:
CONFIG_EXTRA_FIRMWARE="intel-ucode/06-2c-01 intel-ucode/06-2c-02"
CONFIG_EXTRA_FIRMWARE_DIR="/lib/firmware"
Rebuilt the bucket.
Overloaded.
There is no mention of microcode in dmesg. Generally.
What am I doing wrong?
