How to install and set up Openmeetings 3.3 on Windows 10? Should I use OM or is there a better software?
The essence of the problem is that you need software for organizing audio and video conferences with the ability to support work through the global network. Required for training activities. The number of actually connecting users to the webinar is up to 5 people, possibly in the future in a couple of years it will expand to 20.
The mandatory requirements that I outlined for the software:
1) Local software, not SAAS. opensource. Server side installer for Windows. Perhaps not opensource, but simply freeware with no time / functionality restrictions.
2) The ability to further appoint from colleagues the operator's managers to organize the distribution of credentials to attendees for the duration of the webinar, and, accordingly, a convenient account support system for the duration of the webinars.
3) Providing access in browser mode without installing extra software. Cross-platform for the client
4) from the side of the teacher: broadcasting the teacher's screen, audio, video, chat with saving history, online polls
5) a webcam to be able to see the teacher
6) provide the ability to speak to students after activation by the teacher
7) control of activity by the teacher of students who online and who is offline
8) saving broadcast recordings
Desirable:
9) Support for mobile devices for the client
10) file sharing
11) automatic mailing of broadcast recordings to webinar listeners by e-mail
For myself, I have so far outlined and am testing Openmeetings. I'm having problems installing and configuring this software.
I use the official documentation:
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/download/attac...
I’ll tell you right away the instructions are clearly the developers are too lazy to update, in particular, I’ll mention the differences with what I’m doing:
- I have Windows 10 Pro x64 OS
- Software versions I began to use fresh ones and not those that are indicated: jdk1.8.0_144, swftools-0.9.0, sox-14-4-2, ffmpeg 2.8.4 (20170804-44e9783), ImageMagick-7.0.6-Q16, apache-ant -1.10.1, CollabNetSubversionEdge-5.2.1, OpenOffice 4.1.3
is the only one, but mysql installed an earlier one because mysql is not friends with the current redistrictuble 2013. It asks to install it although it is installed, so I installed mysql 5.6.37.0.
I have a gag on the points:
Step12:
Installed as indicated, only one moment is not clear. The link file:///C:/Program%20Files/csvn/launch.html shows the status: "Console Status: Console not started. Read troubleshooting information at the Subversion Edge wiki." Is this normal or is there something else I need to do did not understand that. Here, following the link to localhost:3343/csvn , I enabled it, that is, I have: "Subversion status: Up".
Step 15: It's
not clear what "convert -version" is, what software does this cmdlet refer to? I sort of installed everything up to this point as indicated in the instructions and double-checked. What software does this command correspond to, what did I do wrong? The output of this command is: "Incorrect disk specified."
I ignored this verification step and moved on for now.
Step17:
Link "svn checkout https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/openmeetings/trun... " does not exist as a result escalated to " https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/openmeetings "And there's a lot, a lot of things and it's not clear what exactly I need. Instead, I downloaded again from the site from here apache.ip-connect.vn.ua/openmeetings/3.3.0/bin/apa...OM itself. Unzipped to C:\. Then I launched red5.bat and I got an error in the process: "WARN 08-18 01:09:28.311 ConfigurationDao.java 113766 127 org.apache.openmeetings.db.dao.basic.ConfigurationDao [org.springframework.scheduling.quartz. SchedulerFactoryBean#0_Worker-9] - Could not find key in configurations: number.minutes.reminder.send" It hung for about 3 minutes, nothing happened and I interrupted the execution of red5.bat.
I did not move further according to the instructions because 3 jambs are already enough. Tell me at these stages what I'm doing wrong and how to do it right.
Removed from problems with OM questions:
- Given the requirements that I have outlined for the software, besides OM, is there anything else? For example, I looked at BigBlueButton, which is also open source, but it is installed on linux.
- What paid solutions do you use, if any? I may have to opt out on the fact of verification and select and test a commercial product.
What problems did you encounter during the operation of the selected software?
