You need to check that the ClientConfig of the plugin has 2 events OnHandleRequest and OnMODXInit enabled.
In your context switch plugin, you need to set the priority for onHandleRequest higher than that of ClientConfig so that it starts earlier. Or reassign so that the plugin uses the OnMODXInit event.
