How to increase the temperature bar on ubuntu, at which the computer starts to blunt nuclear?
Good night everybody. Here I have such a problem happens during work and it is very annoying. If I run a lot of tasks, especially those related to 3D graphics, then the laptop (acer aspire 12th year: check-in below) starts to dull naturally at a temperature of 72 degrees. On Windows, when I sat playing, there was no such problem, because the laptop heated up even more and nothing like this happened.
I concluded that the config of some module responsible for the processor load deliberately reduces its clock frequency, naturally, in order to cool it down.
Proc: intel core i3 don't remember code, ivy bridge
Map: geForce GT630
I think someone definitely came across this, because I didn’t set this setting myself, it’s probably by default in the system settings, but I don’t know where to look. Dear ubuntovod, help =)

You here https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/cpu-freq/...
As already mentioned, try updating the BIOS.
Also clean the cooling system and replace the thermal paste.
And if it is possible to update the kernel of the system.
I once had an ACER laptop (2007 release). I rolled Ubuntu on it. He began to warm up, buzz and cut down, and this was clearly due to the rearrangement of the OS.
I happened to notice that there is a noticeably newer BIOS. But the bios update only worked under Windows. I had to cool the computer with a vacuum cleaner through the open case and boot through the Reanimator CD. Then update the bios. And, oddly enough, it helped.
On this topic. Here it seems that I did not raise the temperature bar, but the problem with cooling was solved programmatically.
