How to increase the speed of a VHDX disk connected directly without a virtual machine?
As you know, virtual disks in Windows can be used not only for their intended purpose, but also as file containers like VeraCrypt. There is a need to take advantage of this opportunity.
But faced with extremely low speed.
The procedure is as follows: regular Win10 Pro without virtual machines, created a virtual disk via diskmgmt.msc. VHDX, type dynamic or static does not matter, the problem is the same in the end. The disk is created, everything is fine. Connected and seen by the system as expected. But when you try to copy something to it, the speed drops by an order of magnitude. For example, a physical drive delivers 120 MB/s. The virtual first keeps this speed for a few seconds, then the “hills” begin with a drop to 30-40 mb, as a result, after a minute the speed is stable at 5-20 mb / s.
Can this be overcome somehow?
