How to increase the space between text and the border of the separator bar in LIstView?

I am writing my own simple application that displays a list of statements in a listview. How do I increase the spacing between text and separator bars in a ListView ?

1 add a margin to the element containing the text
2 add a margin or padding to the margin or separator
3 add a Space element
