How to increase data transfer speed?

Connected directly two computers of the "Computer-Computer" type. One computer is Windows Server and the other is Ubuntu.
Both have gigabit network interfaces. But when I copy files from one computer to another, the task manager shows a transfer speed of only 25%.
If the network interfaces are gigabit, then how can I make sure that the speed is used at 100%?
* UPD: After I crimped the cable with a cross for a gigabit network, the speed became ~ 500Mbits / sec. Half of the gigabit most likely because my screws are slow. Because I tried to copy a file of the same size on my computer that I sent over the network, it took about the same amount of time.

Measure your speed with iperf. If everything is ok with the speed, then, as Wexter said , look at what you have in the disk subsystem on the sender and recipient.

Disk cache in RAM if the power is stable and the disks are not pulling.
