How to include jQuery in Drupal 8 ? needed for the masonry module to work
For D7 there is a jQuery Update module, but for D8 there is no module

jQuery is at the core of both the seven and the eight. The jQuery Update module simply allows you to update the library version in Drupal 7.
In D8, you need to add your theme file [theme name].libraries.yml to libraries:
dependencies:
- core/jquery
