How to import a bunch of posts from markdown into wordpress?

I ran into the lack of ready-made tools for transferring a bunch of posts in markdown format to wordpress.
I am looking for a tool that will allow me to take the whole bunch of posts in markdown and convert it into something understandable for wordpress. For example, in xml, a backup file for subsequent import. The most ideal option would be a plugin that will take files from a folder on the server and convert them into posts of the wordpress itself.
Right now, the closest I've found is the mystery markdown plugin which allows you to download posts from dropbox via a public link. But in it you need to add each post manually, create and feed it a URL.

I found a simpler solution, Wordpress has a plugin for importing CSV tables, where one line is a post =)
