How to implement swipe to close activity?

Hello!
In some applications, I observe an interesting effect, with a swipe on the left, the activity (or fragment) screen smoothly closes.
For example: Telegram, Snapster (after going to settings), Google drive (when going to properties).
At least a hint on how this can be done.
Of course, there are libraries, but they are old, and they extend FragmentActivity, I need it to work with AppCompatActivity.
