How to implement image storage in xfields MySQL DLE engine?

Good afternoon!
I wanted to know how you feel about the standard database in the DLE engine? Those. I mean that there dozens of additional fields are stored in one xfields field (separated by ||, text type). Tell me, please, is this bad for large projects? Is it worth taking extra fields in separate fields of a DB?
For example, now I store dozens of pictures in add. The images field, there are also a dozen more fields, do you think it is worth putting it in a separate field? Would it be better, and if so, why?
Thanks in advance!

The better part is that you don't have to get all the data and parse it.

Depends on the task
Of the minuses, I can note
1. No data type checking at the database level for each value
2. No value restriction at the database level
3. No sorting
4. Sampling of redundant data
5. If a large project = highly loaded, then storing images in mysql bad idea. If not, then this has its advantages.
6. Field length is limited
