How to identify the critical load on the disk subsystem?

Hello! The host sent me an email with the following content:

Your VPS created a critical load on the disk subsystem of the physical server

As a result, I cut off all ports to it except 22. Tell me how to see what exactly created this critical load?

Well, how do you look right now, if after cutting off the load has already stopped?
In general, the iotop utility perfectly shows the load on disks.
You can also htop - it is more universal, displaying the I / O speed of processes can be easily added there in the settings.
