How to host a static website on digitalocean?
Tell me, how can a person who has never dealt with hosting at all before host a static site on DO + attach a domain bought on reg.ru to it? Manuals in English are welcome, I could not find anything sensible myself.

What's wrong?
Just configure nginx to serve static files (easier than ever).
In general, why do you need a virtual machine for this? You can take cheap shared-hosting.
this is a normal VPS, you
raise a droplet with Linux,
put nginx or apache there
via ssx, upload files to it,
bind the domain to the droplet's IP in the dns manager,
voila.
