How to host a domain on one hosting and a subdomain on another?

I have a domain. Registered with a registrar, dns hosting provider installed, it doesn't matter, for example:

dns.fastdns24.com.
dns2.fastdns24.com.
dns3.fastdns24.com.
dns4.fastdns24.com.

This hoster has a DNS panel, where I add a domain and add the IP address of a specific leased server on which this site is located, for example 115.115.115.115, and usually an A-record like * is added for all subdomains to work.

Question: I want a subdomain that will be hosted by another hosting provider. What should be done in this case?
Create another A-record like sub.domain.com and specify the IP address of a server from another hosting provider? For example 222.222.222.222 ? Or in some other way?
