How to highlight text in twitter after the latest changes in the service?

A search on twitter shows that this is a common problem in recent days. Many users found one unpleasant side effect of the next changes in the service interface: when you try to select text in a tweet, the tweet opens and the selection disappears; when you try again, the tweet collapses and the selection disappears again. As a result of this behavior, it is generally impossible to select a piece of text within a tweet. Sometimes it's lucky to highlight one word with a double click, sometimes the selection is preserved if you start it with the first letter of the tweet, but these are rather unpredictable accidents.
Experimentally, I found out that the selection works and the opening / collapsing does not occur if you hold down Alt on the keyboard (at least in Windows XP on the nightly assembly of Firfox). But such complexity is not always convenient. Maybe someone noticed other patterns that can make it easier to select text before fixing this error (I hope it will be fixed)?
