How to hide a partition in a portable SSD?
There was a need to implement such a scheme:
divide the 240 GB SSD into 2 sections of 120 GB each (one white, the second encrypted).
So that when connected to a computer, it will be possible to start from the encrypted partition on which the system will be rolled, but it will start only after entering the password.
But, with the usual connection of the ssd, so that only a 120GB partition (white) is visible.

Before starting such work, it is usually worth deciding on the model of the intruder. That is, with the question - where will I do it, what to store on it and who will try to find this section?
The following thoughts come to mind:
- The white partition is the first, the encrypted second
- To boot from the encrypted one, you need a separate media with a bootloader
- The partition table on the SSD is edited manually by a hex editor so that the last cylinder of the partition is the last cylinder of the disk so that various partition managers do not see empty space in half a screw (which will naturally arouse interest - what is it here?)
The only weak point is, as usual, yourself. You have both the disk and the encryption key. And if there is a task, they will squeeze you until you give everything away, explain it and you will still be glad that you got away relatively whole
There is such programulina VeraCrypt. She can encrypt both entire disks and partitions on them.
