How to hard reset a TP-Link tl-wr842nd router?
Good day to all! The other day I bought a TP-Link TL-WR842ND router and probably made the stupidest mistake of my life.
I installed the openwrt firmware on the router and started setting up a pptp connection on it. I drove the settings into wan and in the end nothing happened, then (I don’t understand how I even thought of this), I drove them into lan and now that’s it!
Now I can't access the router by its ip. lan has a pptp connection.
Help, advise what to do to reflash it, or at least how you can contact it, thanks!

Don't panic.
Here we look at the recovery item, and download the firmware via tftp.
Fortunately, the bootloader is always shoved with the possibility of restoring the firmware in this way.
In general, it is desirable to have a COM port at hand, solder to the uart, like this .
It is also desirable to deal with jtag'om, and have a lanyard on ft2232h or ft232hl.
When "burning" a native flash drive, it is desirable to have soldering skills, and flashing hboot via SPI.
Also, you often have to solder all sorts of ethernets after thunderstorms.
These are, in principle, the standard methods of "unbricking" that any user of custom firmware should master. They allow anything to be revived.
1. Connect your router to the first LAN (required).
2. Enter failsafe mode. Connect the power supply cable, as soon as the SYS light starts flashing, press the RESET button. At the same time, the SYS light will begin to flash very quickly. You have entered failsafe mode.
3. Type 192.168.1.1 at the telnet command line. Press Enter.
4. Enter the firstboot command and wait for it to complete.
All. The firmware has returned to its original state.
Now you can write the desired password to the router. To do this, enter the passwd command and enter your password 2 times.
Distort the power and go through the web interface or command line (putty, winscp).
