You can hack a computer through the power supply, for example, with pliers.
What the dude says is not to hack into the computer, but to take information from it. But for this, you first need to install special software on your computer that can manipulate the cooler and the load on the CPU.
This can be useful for special isolated computers that are not connected to the Internet or to any local network, but from which you want to periodically receive some data.
Your pre-installed software can:
1) modulate the fan speed, and a separate device in this room can pick up this sound. The transfer rate is very slow, but data can still be transferred.
2) By changing the load on the CPU and accordingly changing the electricity consumption, you can modulate the signal in the power cable, removing it with a device that is connected to a parallel socket (even at a considerable distance). At the same time, the transmission speed is higher and the communication quality is more reliable.
But you can’t put this program into the computer through the power supply, so this is a “special type of hacking”, and not just hacking a password-protected home PC.

This is not a hack, but the organization of a channel for information leakage. Moreover, the technique is by no means new - "let's put an agent on a computer and let him somehow create vibrations that can be removed." All these methods are derived from the method of reading a conversation in a closed room by the vibration of the glasses.
The problem of this "method" is the same as other similar ones - you first need to install the "agent" :)
