How to go to local site.com?

I want to open a site that is locally located on my computer when I go to site.com on my computer.
Added to etc/hosts
127.0.0.1 site.com
what else needs to be done or is it impossible at all?

You also need to specify the settings for the host in the web server (Nginx, Apache)
