I have a site. It contains 100 quality interesting articles in Russian. The translation team translated them competently, as it should be in general, into English. I want these pages to be indexed as well. If I add pages to the sitemap, the URLs of which are the same as in Russian, but with the language get-parameter, is this a normal practice? Or is it better to make an English subdomain?

IMHO it is better to do a subdomain. Or add
site.ru/en/articke212
site.ru/ru/articke212
old links to the URL make a permanent redirect to new ones in ru
