It's just that you basically don't understand how such objects are modeled. The general principle is to create a surface by moving a section along a curve. For example, as described here:

A curved pipe should be a section that is always perpendicular (or close to perpendicular) to its axis at the point of intersection with the axis. You are trying to get a curved pipe by shifting sections, keeping them perpendicular to the axis of some other section of the pipe (its beginning).
