How to get to BIOS/UEFI?
Greetings.
Rubric questions from a neosilator.
New sistemnik, there 32 bit Windows.
I want to install Linux from a flash drive.
When you turn on / reboot, if you press Delete (as in the instructions), it will just be a black screen.
Those. Perhaps it is included in the BIOS, but there is no display on the screen.

Have you connected an external video card? The GIGABYTE B85-HD3 has a built-in one, the BIOS, of course, sends the image to it by default (the operating system already knows about both video cards and finds the active one itself).
Try connecting the monitor to the built-in one, then go into the BIOS and change the default output device.
So during boot you should be shown what to press for the BIOS / UEFI settings, if instead of useful information the picture then press tab during boot.
And finally, a cool option is to find a manual for the motherboard on the net, and there it is described how to do it for sure.
The problem is that the Linux bootloader must be UEFI (for example, Ubuntu). As for other distributions, I don't know if Grub has been updated.
Or enable Legacy mode in the BIOS, and install the OS using the classic method. BUT then the licensed pre-installed Windows will not work.
PS
Considering your second question - demolish Windows, turn on Legacy, install Windows, install lin.
As an option, install Linux from under Windows ..
And without torment ..
If you need it from a USB flash drive, then when you turn it on (if there is a squeaker), after the first peak, press tab 1 time.
If it doesn’t help, then try different options when you turn on the computer, and this is
del, f2, f10
There was such a problem with laptops, the session ended incorrectly. After resetting the bios, I had to sew the eprom. For the future, make the bootloader for Linux a separate section, do not try to touch the Windows bootloader !!! Turn off your ufi immediately
Mmm... I see, no one here has yet suggested resetting the BIOS / UEFI settings by removing the battery / jumper. :)
