I used to use the maps API without problems, but when Yandex maps were required for the next project, it turned out that now they work like in Google - through the api key.
The only problem is that after receiving the key in the developer's office, all requests go as 400, and if you do not specify key - 500
I tried not to specify anything in the url field of the site (because localhost + test domain + working domain). I tried to specify a test and a working one, the result is always the same
When creating, something about moderation is written. Do Yandex employees manually activate each key, or what does this mean?

You need to be registered in Yandex and follow the link https://developer.tech.yandex.ru/keys/ and get a Javascript API key
