How to get the number of reposts on Facebook?

The sharedposts method returns the reposts of a specific post, which is what I need, but if the post was not created by the user (application), then sharedposts returns an empty response. As far as I understand these records (posts) differ only in the status_type field. Through FQL, these fields are not available, and through api they do not change. Is there a way to count the reposts of posts created by the application.
