How to get the coordinates of an object in a room?

Good day!
There is a certain object moving in a closed space with an area of about 100 m. The movement occurs, in fact, on a plane (the floor of the room). The nature of movement is outside the subject area. It is necessary to determine at what point of this plane the object is currently located. It would be ideal to build its route for further analysis. I will be glad to any hints on the implementation, both software and hardware.
Thank you in advance!

If you need an accuracy of "±3 bast shoes", then everything is quite simple: we place a pair of ultrasonic transceivers, put the same thing on the "object" and ping it alternately with one or the other squeaker. We calculate the coordinates from the delays.
A video camera (or even several) placed somewhere in the corner will help to measure the coordinates more accurately (and more simply).
Well, it certainly won’t work for sure: the price category is not the same! Although, no: if you apply a grid on the floor (say, with a step of 1dm), for a rough calculation of the position, put the camera in the corner of the room, and for clarification - on the "object" itself, then it will be possible to calculate with an accuracy of up to a centimeter after calibration.
