SVG can be edited in illustrator, but you need to understand that it has a different nature of origin and you won’t see all the illustrator’s gadgets like filters in the same form. It will be more of a parsed and modified effect. In turn, effects in scg can also be distorted when opened in illustrator or even lost (I am generally silent about animation). If there was a shadow in svg, then in illustrator it can become a picture. Depends on how the svg was made.
