How to get started with GPIO on Raspberry pi?

Raspberry is available, there is a great interest in working with gpio, but I don’t know where to start, since there are no skills in soldering and connecting either. What to buy where to start reading. Jokes about Ohm's law are not accepted :)

LEDs, 510 ohm resistors. Collect, wink.
Then you can make a running fire, a volume indicator, and so on.
