How to get rid of monitor squeak?

The LG Flatron W2042T monitor emits a squeak if the brightness on it is set to less than 100%. At 100%, the beep stops.
I found the following on the wiki: “backlight brightness is regulated by PWM. On older monitors, you can turn down the brightness and hear the PWM start beeping. But I still don’t understand physically which element is beeping? After all, if these are chokes, they can be varnished.
Or, if you solve the problem programmatically, than in ArchLInux you can programmatically reduce the brightness of the monitor? In order to unscrew 100 in the settings of the monica itself, and then programmatically reduce it to ~ 80.

I know it's a little off topic, but who can explain why the monitor starts beeping when viewing this picture? =\ img84.imageshack.us/img84/2570/stripest.jpg

The squeak comes from the chokes (coils). At the maximum brightness of the fluorescent backlight lamps, there is a rather large load, hence the squeak. One treatment option is to try to fill them with varnish. True, it’s not a fact that it will turn out - the squeak can go to another range or not stop at all. Buying new coils for soldering is very problematic.
As for the software solution in Linux, I won’t tell you, because I don’t know.
