How to get information from a problem hard drive?
A problem with the Seagate Momentus 5400.6 500 GB 2.5" disk. We needed data from it (60 gig backup). When copying, it gave a 62% error. While trying to copy the file with various utilities, it turned out that when accessing some sectors, the disk just stops responding (although is still visible in the system.) That is, there is no way to create an image or scan for data recovery, at some point the screw simply goes into the astral plane, and starts to react only after reconnection. Other files (small) are copied from it and onto In general,
I looked smart (not encouraging at all): The test "Victoria" reaches a certain sector and the disk falls into a coma, and Error :
UNCR errors are thrown into the log.
After reconnecting it works again. It is not clear why this is happening. I even cleaned the contacts on the board)) - it did not help.
And actually the question is: is it possible, after all, to somehow pull out the necessary information from the hard drive, what options are there (well, except for the obvious that it’s time for the disk to be scrapped)? Data in the archive (with information for recovery, without compression and password). There is a possibility that even something can be extracted from a broken one, but how to get it from a disk?

In general, if anyone needs it, it turned out to partially subtract the damaged information from the screw only in Linux ddrescue - a very flexible tool, but it requires smoking manuals. I ran it on Ubuntu, although there seems to be something for Windows.
