How to get audio spectrum of Raspbian audio in real time using python?

There is a Raspberry pi and an addressable diode strip. I want to make it flow to the beat of the music. Is it possible to get a spectral analysis of the reproduced sound in python and control the tape with it?
Can you please tell me how to implement this?
