How to get angle from quaternion?

Hello.
There is an accelerometer sensor with a gyroscope (MPU-6050). Through the library I can get a quaternion. But I need a tilt angle along one of the axes, which would not depend on other angles. Can it be found at all?
I did the calculations like this: quaternion - > rotation matrix ->
euler angles and yaw pitch roll
