What is the correct way to arrange zeros and poles in the complex plane?
Hello, in the exam problem on digital systems and signals, there is a construction of a notch (notch) FIR filter of the second order. I'm interested in one of the questions from the problem, which sounds like this: "find the poles and zeros, then draw them on the complex plane." How to properly position them on the plane? Values go like "0.65+-0.75i" and stuff like that.
If someone is interested in the full interpretation of the question in the original, it sounds like this:
"You shall design a second order digital FIR notch filter with notch frequency fo = 6 kHz, ie, sinusodial signals of frequency fo shall not pass from input u to output y
1) Determine the poles and zeros, and sketch them into the z plane .
