How to free up space for compression?
I needed to compress a volume in windows 10, but 0 MB is available for compression, none of the methods from the Internet helped me :( tell me how can I increase the number of megabytes for compression? I have 83 GB free on the disk, I have an SSD.

Delete unnecessary files from disk. Or move them somewhere.
Windows needs 30gb to work.
In my opinion, two completely different things are being discussed here, which, unfortunately, are translated in one word - "compress".
1) In "Disk Management" there is "Compress volume ..." - this is a reduction in volume size. It can really get in the way of non-relocatable files. But the author of the question clearly does not need it. This operation does not increase the space for files in any way!
2) In RMB Explorer on the disk - Properties - Checkbox "Compress this disk to save space" That's what the author apparently meant! This is a completely different operation - compressing files on the fly. Just check this box! Well, there is also the "Disk Cleanup" button - use it to get started.
But in general, compression is not a solution. If there is not enough space - you need a larger disk or one more, that's it!
