How to forward only one window from the terminal?

I saw people instead of a terminal, for example for 1s, only one window is forwarded and works like a native application. I understand that this is citrix.
They changed something there, and if it used to be called metaframe, now it's XenApp?
Are there any free or cheaper options than citrix for such application forwarding? Thank you.
