How to force windows 7 to start updating already?
Win 7 has never been updated since installation. It's been a long time. Subsequent attempts to update via the Update Center resulted in only one result: 80070002. An unknown Wibdows Update error occurred.
I googled a lot on this subject and tried many different things. It all boils down to something like this: the vast majority of attempts to update manually through packages end up with an "update is not applicable to this computer" error before it starts. As I understand it, the problem is that the installation of a certain update requires a previous update. How to go through this chain from the very beginning? How to install all required windows 7 updates?

When trying to install this update

I get the same error "the update is not applicable to this computer"

write the details: is sp1 installed, from which image the OS was installed - the original image or build, how it was activated - with the key / kms / bios slic or through the loader or wga destroyer (for example, chew wga)
download the version with bitness suitable for the running system - if you have x86 (32 bit) then download www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/search.aspx?q=kb3... just "Update for Windows 7 (KB3125574) "
if 64 bit - download "Update for Windows 7 for systems based on x64 processors (KB3125574)"

now you can search, but in general it will be faster to install several packages manually, because the search will still take 20-30 minutes .

11 in the windows update settings, select automatic search and download updates. now you can run a search for updates, it will find a few updates, after that it will search and install updates normally. if auto-search is disabled, then after some time (a couple of months), when trying to manually search for updates, the processor load may become 100% - stop the update service, delete the softwaredistribution folder, repeat the search, it will take a long time, at least 15 minutes.
if there are errors, sfc didn't fix them and you don't want to reinstall windows - you can try to install all updates using download.wsusoffline.net but the update service may still fail.
