How to force mssql to search in text fields with Russian characters?

At some point, SSMS stopped producing results with conditions like
where field = 'Текст'
where field in ('Текст')
where field like 'Текст'
That is, it does not search in text fields with Russian characters (everything is fine with Latin characters).
Previously, I normally perceived Russian characters. It is advisable not to change the settings of the server itself, I'm not the only one using it.
How can I solve this problem?

Adding an N before the opening apostrophe of the string solves the problem.
