How to force a bot not to send a message?

Hello. I write telegram bots on node.js. With one of the messages, I create an on-screen keyboard. When the button is clicked, either the text or the location is sent. Is it possible to make it so that when the user clicks on the button, the input field is filled in, but the message is not sent?
for example, the user clicks on the "1 option" button, and the number 1 simply appears in the input field.
