How to fix the error "The provider "Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0" is not registered on the local computer."?

When changing .Net from 4.5 to 3.5 in the properties of projects at startup, an error occurs "The provider "Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0" is not registered on the local computer.". How can this be corrected?

Check the Prefer 32-bit checkbox in the project properties and rejoice. Well, or put the 64-bit version of the Access provider.

So, it's easy to build an application for x86 if you work in Visual Studio. Some "Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.xy" may not exist under x64.
