How to fix memory leak in Chromium under Ubuntu?

I noticed, and for over two years now, despite Chromium being updated, in its task manager, the GPU process only consumes more memory, for example, if you open 30 tabs, and it will consume 1.4 GB, then after closing all the tabs except for one, it will still consume so much, and Google Chrome will clean up.
