How to fix a piece of iron from Microsoft?

I have a set of Microsoft Natural Wireless Ergonomic Desktop 7000, in which both the keyboard and the mouse work, but the radio module started to fail. That is, it is very rarely determined by the computer, after which it can work normally for several weeks if it is not touched. The solution, it would seem, is simple: go to a service center and change the radio module for relatively little money. Alas. Microsoft does not have a service center. They don't support their hardware at all. They are sent by phone to the store. And the store, once large and popular, has closed.

Is there another way to change the radio module? I really like both the keyboard and mouse, but with such a service, I somehow don’t want to buy a new set.

Try to look for an authorized service center for microsoftware and take it there, or just for repair at any service.

Judging by your description of the malfunction, a possible reason for its inoperability is a banal non-contact in the cable-connector-board. Give a look to a person who is familiar with a soldering iron - maybe he will do everything for you. Well, or try to disassemble it yourself and see what's there.
