How to find out that a redirect can be removed?

Good afternoon.
Question on internal linking: redirected page "A" to page "B", deleted "A". I want to redirect "C" to "B". Where can I see that "A" no longer "works" and it is already possible to remove the current redirect?

John Mueller from Google advised keeping the redirect for a year. But it's all situational. If there are no incoming links to A, and earlier this page was often visited by Google crawler, then a month later it can be deleted. But what prevented you from redirecting from A to B? Correctly.
I would advise leaving the redirect forever.
In the Yandex Webmaster panel, from time to time I observe how Yandex walks through pages from which there has been a redirect for several years.
