How to find inspiration in your specialty?

Good day to all. I turn to you for inspiration.
I like programming not for the sake of receiving any awards in the form of praise or credit.
Labs that are given at the university I write quickly and without straining, for now.
When there is inspiration, I start writing all sorts of nonsense. Wrote encoding and decoding text without a key by the frequency of letters. Wrote tags, tic-tac-toe in the console using mega flickering default graphics by means of coloring askii. He wrote a lot of works for those who came to the university for the sake of a diploma or just walk. I wrote a couple of playful winlockers to my friends.
But there's a problem. I want to write, but everything that comes to hand quickly bothers and repels.
My direction is Infobez, the language that attracts me is pluses, later I may switch to reality. I'm slowly but surely learning OpenGL at the moment.
Can you tell me what you can write for yourself, for the sake of the soul and practice, which will be both interesting and in contact with my profession

For a professional developer, coding is a job, not a search. Write what people ask for. The return is that they did well, as asked, better than others. And what would `just works`. It's not that easy at all.

similarly, quickly gets bored and I turn to something new))). I thought about it and came to the conclusion that this is not the project, not the startup that will be the last / successful. And while in the dawn of strength, why stop? Life is motion. When there is really something of your own, it will drag on for a long time, until successful implementation.

there is a very thin line between love and inspiration, at some point it disappears and becomes one

Try to change the direction of activity or find a long-term project on a topic that you will not cool off.
For example, I would love to work on finite element analysis systems, but not yet.

Write a game/demo that renders to ascii characters, here's an example .

Well, here you need to deal with yourself.
Perhaps there is a wrong goal setting. Those. you write code for the sake of code. There is no end goal like "I want my ____ (insert necessary) with blackjack and hookers.
Perhaps the projects you do are at the level of your skills, i.e. there are no difficulties that you need to overcome in order to get a cookie (albeit an imaginary one).
Or maybe you don’t have enough feedback from others.Yes, yes, custom-made kurskis are cool, but it’s unlikely that those who you make them will appreciate the work. just gasp.

if infobez is interesting, then they usually write something like this en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Pill_%28software%29
and inspiration is here phrack.org
