How to filter out background hiss from lecture audio?
There is an audio recording of the lecture in MP3. The voice is heard well, but the loud background hiss (something like pink noise) interferes, you have to listen carefully. I tried to use the built-in equalizer in VLC, lowering the controls 31, 63, 125, 250, 500, 2K Hz (i.e. everything except 1K Hz) all the way (-20 Db) and all the way (+20 Db) increasing 1K Hz - it became noticeably better, but not much, some words are still hard to hear, I would like to clean it up more. Advise some utility that can be filtered (you can do it in advance, not necessarily on the go, I just said by the way about the equalizer so that the nature of the noise is a little clear).
