How to fill empty cells with the last occurring value using a formula?

What do I mean. There is a table, in the first column there are dates, in the second - some useful values. It is necessary that the same date is not duplicated from column to column, but is set only with a unique value - further cells remain empty until the next date. In the third column, you should automatically substitute the values of the first column with filled cells, where the empty cells are filled with the last occurring date - this column will be used for calculations.
I try to do it through ARRAYFORMULA, but the maximum is to substitute the value of the cell 1 level higher. How can one proceed to the desired match?

In cell C1, you need to substitute the formula:
And in cell C2, you need to substitute the formula:
Then stretch this formula to the entire column.
I didn’t test it, because you are a bad person, and you didn’t leave a link to an example in the Google doc, and it’s somehow not convenient to type a sign from a screenshot. But the logic is clear. If there is a date on the left, then we take it, otherwise we take the previous one in column C, and the date will be copied along the chain there. This kind of recursion.
